Top o’ the Mornin’ to Ya!
TLDR: May snow reminds me that God creates beauty from disruption. Just as snowflakes come together in turbulence to form magnificent snowballs, our personal and professional disruptions can transform into beautiful opportunities when we trust God’s process. I encourage Christian men to recognize the beauty emerging from their life’s disruptions and trust God’s plan during challenging times in marriage, parenting, business, and ministry.
What?
It’s May 2nd, and surprisingly, it’s snowing outside with uniquely large, clumpy snowballs measuring over an inch across. While taking my daughter to the bus stop, I pointed out this unusual weather phenomenon. We discussed how these snowballs form – regular snowflakes bumping into each other in the churning clouds, becoming slightly wet and melty in the warmer weather, causing them to stick together into beautiful fluffy chunks. Looking out our breakfast window, we initially mistook them for tree fluff, but soon realized they were these magnificent snow formations falling from the sky.
Why?
This unexpected May snow illustrates something profound about God’s work in our lives. Those snow clumps form through disruption – chaotic movement in the clouds that causes individual snowflakes to collide. Yet from this turbulence emerges something beautiful and awe-inspiring. This natural phenomenon perfectly mirrors how God works in our lives – creating beauty from disruption.
Lesson
God has the power to transform disruption into beauty. Just as He orchestrates stunning snow formations from turbulent weather patterns, He can bring beauty from the ashes of our most challenging life experiences. The disruptions in our marriages, parenting relationships, businesses, and churches aren’t just painful moments to endure – they’re opportunities for God to create something unexpectedly beautiful. When we feel overwhelmed by life’s storms, we can come to Him and trust that He’s working to bring forth beauty we can’t yet imagine.

Take a moment to reflect on and write down a disruption in your life that eventually erupted into beauty. Consider your personal history – where have challenges, setbacks, or painful experiences eventually led to unexpected blessings? My own addiction story was certainly a disruption, a difficult journey. Yet God transformed it into a beautiful ministry, business, marriage, family, and even this lovely spot in the woods where we now live. Your story of disruption-to-beauty might be unfolding right now, even if you can’t yet see the full picture.
You be blessed.
