Top o’ the Mornin’ to Ya!
TLDR: Discover why confusing cause and effect keeps you stuck in downward trends, and how Kingdom Family Leaders can shift from being “in effect” to being “at cause” to change the trajectory of their lives.
What?
I was on a stock trading training call recently, and it’s happened a number of times. They say “Well, if the stock gets up to here, then the line will go this way, and it’ll push the stock up more.”
And I’m like “Well, this is just showing what has been happening. This is the effect of the stock prices. It’s not pushing it up. It’s showing what has happened in the past.” As I thought about that, I was like “That brings me back to cause and effect.” This is the effect. This little curvy line is about the effect of the recent stock trends. It’s an indicator. It doesn’t push the stock up. It shows that it’s possible this stock will keep going up.
We got to be careful that we don’t mix up the effect with the cause. We bring this into real life. It’s like “Well, yeah, it never works for me.” That’s a fact you’re locking down. Let me go back to stock again for a minute. Past results don’t predict future results. So the past doesn’t predict the future.
We can let it when we stay in effect when we say “Oh, here goes the trend. It’s going down. My life is just going to go down, so I’ll go down with it.” Or we can be at cause and go “Here it’s going down. What is happening that makes it go down?” And we can put in a fat cause and we can be at causing. We can take actions to change that.
The stock market’s influenced by millions of people, especially the big purchasers making big buys and sells. But your day and your life day by day is just you. You affect that curve with your mindset and your direction and where you’re headed. You can be at cause and not in effect. It’s not the downward trend of the stock that makes the stock keep going down. Although it often does, this is just an effect of where the stock’s been lately.
Why?
I share this because Kingdom Family Leaders constantly confuse effect with cause. We look at past results – “It never works for me,” “My marriage always struggles,” “I can’t break this pattern” – and treat those effects as if they’re causing our future. We surrender to the trend line like it has power over us.
When you’re “in effect,” you’re letting past results predict and determine your future. You see the downward trend and say “I guess I’ll go down with it.” But those indicators are just showing what’s already happened. They’re not pushing you anywhere. You have the power to be at cause.
Lesson
The difference between cause and effect determines whether you’re passive or active in your life. When you’re “in effect,” you observe what’s happening and accept it as inevitable. When you’re “at cause,” you ask “What is happening that makes it go down?” and then take actions to change it.
Past results don’t predict future results. That’s true in stock trading and true in life. The trend line shows history, not destiny. Yes, trends often continue – but not because the line pushes them. Trends continue because the underlying causes haven’t changed.
The stock market is influenced by millions of people making billions of decisions. You can’t control that. You can ctonrol if you’re in or out of the market.
But your day and your life day by day? That’s just you. You affect that curve with your mindset, your direction, and where you’re headed. You have far more power over your life trajectory than any individual has over market trends.
Being at cause means recognizing a fact, learning from it, growing from it, and taking action to create different causes that produce different effects. The downward trend is information, not destiny.
Apply
Identify one area where you’ve been “in effect” – accepting a negative pattern as inevitable because “it never works for me” or “that’s just how it is.” Write down the effect you’re experiencing. Then ask “What is happening that makes it go this way?” Identify one specific cause you can change. Take one action this week to be at cause instead of staying in effect.
You be blessed!
