Today I’m addressing one of my five pillars: abundance. Recently, I robbed myself of abundance by being a cheapskate.
Last night, I slept poorly because our sump pump isn’t draining properly. The line is frozen or clogged, and it’s my fault. I hired a handyman to do the work, but it was done incorrectly. I spent the night vacuuming out the water and worrying about the sump pump alarm going off, which affected my rest and peace.
So, here are the lessons I learned:
1. Don’t try to do everything yourself. I didn’t do the sump pump work myself, which was a good decision.
2. Own your choices. Where you are in life is a result of the decisions you’ve made and the actions you’ve taken.
3. Hire the best person for the job. The book “Who Not How” (affiliate link: https://amzn.to/3Jrzz2B) emphasizes finding the right people to do the work instead of trying to learn how to do everything yourself.
Doing things well and getting them done right will add to your abundance, peace, and influence throughout your life. I need to make the right choices and hire the best of the best so that I can be my best in my own areas of expertise.
Don’t be a cheapskate. Get things done right, especially when they matter. And remember, you are where you are because of you, no one else. Period.
You be blessed!
