Top o’ the Mornin’ to Ya!

TLDR: Discover why saving $50-100 on a propane monitoring system cost me way more in anxiety, stress, disruption, and wasted time – and where you’re stepping over dollars to save dimes in your own life.

What?
Are you stepping over dollars to save dimes? My old mastermind facilitator used to ask us that question. I think he got it from one of his mentors back in the day.

If you take a look at this gauge here, I had an option on our propane tank to sign up for a monitoring system that watches it go down, but it was like fifty or a hundred bucks. And now you can see where our monitor system is at – it’s empty.

So we pulled out the electric heaters, placed the order to fill propane for the house. Love living out here in the woods, but I think it’s a perfect example of stepping over dollars to save dimes. Saving a little bit of money here to increase my anxiety and increase my stress, and missed a dollar.

Because now, yesterday, we were disrupted. This morning, I got out the electric heaters and put those into place. I told the kids “Don’t use any hot water.” We need some gas today, but it’s three to five days. So I emailed the guy I used to email before the automated system came into play. Hopefully we get filled up before next week. It is Friday, January 2, so I don’t wanna go through the weekend without it. So far the heaters we got in place are doing it.

Think about your life, think about where you’re at. Where are areas where you’re stepping over dollars, skipping dollars, missing out on dollars to save dimes?

One of my YouTube mentors – Alex Hormozi – made a list of all the things you can do in your house for sixteen hundred dollars in a month that will save you like ninety hours of work. Where are the areas that we shouldn’t be doing stuff, that we’re saving dimes and missing dollars, using up our time for things that don’t fill us up or grow us, where we can hire somebody, pay somebody that’ll do it better, do it more consistently, and do it for us so that we can focus on what really matters for our Kingdom building.

Why?
I share this because Kingdom Family Leaders step over dollars to save dimes all the time. We save $50-100 on a monitoring system and pay with anxiety, stress, disruption, wasted time dealing with electric heaters, telling kids not to use hot water, emailing manually, hoping we get filled before the weekend.

We think we’re being wise stewards. We’re actually missing dollars – the dollar value of our time, our peace, our focus, our ability to build Kingdom instead of managing propane crises.

Lesson
Stepping over dollars to save dimes means saving small money while losing big value. I saved $50-100 on propane monitoring. What did it cost? Anxiety. Stress. Disruption yesterday. Time this morning getting electric heaters. Telling kids no hot water. Manual emails. Three to five day wait. Hoping we get filled before weekend. Mental load managing the crisis.

The dime saved. The dollars lost – time, peace, focus, energy that could have gone to Kingdom building.

The question isn’t “Can I save this dime?” The question is “What dollar am I stepping over to save this dime?” What’s the real cost in anxiety, stress, disruption, time, mental load, missed opportunities to build Kingdom?

We think we’re being wise stewards saving every dime. We’re actually poor stewards of our time, peace, and Kingdom calling when we step over dollars to save dimes.

This week, identify one area where you’re stepping over dollars to save dimes. Where are you saving small money but paying with anxiety, stress, time, disruption, mental load, and bigger money? What could you hire someone to do better and more consistently for you so you can focus on Kingdom building? Make the list. Calculate the real cost of saving dimes.

You be blessed!
