Top o’ the Mornin’ to Ya!

TLDR: In this reflection on spring’s rejuvenation, I explore how God’s seasonal design mirrors our personal seasons of renewal and growth, inviting Kingdom leaders to consider what new growth awaits in their next horizon.

What?
Standing amidst trees that will soon transform from barren to lush green, I marvel at God’s incredible creation. Despite the chilly 34-degree temperature and snow flurries around me, I can see the coming season of growth. These seemingly lifeless trees will be full of green leaves in just two weeks, creating matter from sunlight, water, and carbon dioxide – an amazing transformation happening right before our eyes.

I reflect on how these trees follow God’s perfect plan through the seasons. After their spring awakening, they’ll spend about five months (May through October) fully green, creating oxygen and nurturing the world before dropping their leaves again. This cycle of dormancy and vibrant life happens year after year with perfect timing.

Why?
This natural renewal process mirrors the seasons of our own lives. Just as trees appear dormant but are preparing for new growth, we too experience periods of waiting before renewal. God orchestrates these cycles of life with purpose and perfect timing.

Lesson
God has embedded renewal into the very fabric of creation. Each season serves a specific purpose, and the transitions between them follow His divine plan. In our lives, periods that seem dormant or challenging aren’t wasted time—they’re preparation for the next season of growth and fruitfulness.

Just as trees only have about five months of full vibrancy before shedding their leaves, we too have seasons of intense growth and productivity. The key is recognizing what season we’re in and embracing its purpose rather than fighting against it.

Apply
Take time to reflect on your current season. Are you in winter, preparing for new growth? Spring, with ideas and opportunities beginning to bud? Summer, in full productive mode? Or fall, releasing what’s completed to prepare for the next cycle?

Consider what’s on your next horizon. What new growth is God preparing in your life, family, business, or ministry? What are you passionate and excited about as this new season approaches?

Write down your thoughts about your next horizon and what you’re looking forward to in this coming season.

You be blessed.
